Pain relief

Thousands of people use our TENS appliances – and not without reason. TENS is a natural, effective and safe therapy for the alleviation of acute and chronic pain. TENS can effectively treat almost every type of pain and contribute to an improvement in quality of life.

Pain is a personal experience: everyone experiences pain differently. A nerve stimulator transmits electrical pulses through electrodes applied to the skin to the nerves sending the pain signals. These pulses ‘distract’ the nerves that are sending the pain signals and reduce pain signals to the brain. The body is also stimulated to produce endorphins, which are natural painkillers.

The great benefit of TENS is that the appliance is simple to use at home. TENS has no side effects (other than skin irritation that may be caused by the use of electrodes) and long-term use is neither dangerous nor harmful. TENS, in contrast to many powerful painkillers, is not based on an anaesthetic or sedative effect.

Prescribers and insurance

TENS can be prescribed for acute and chronic pain and pain syndromes. Your GP can refer you to a hospital with a pain polyclinic staffed by a range of specialists. Once you have completed a successful trial period you can send your application directly to us. Some healthcare insurers also accept TENS prescriptions from physiotherapists and GPs. The costs of TENS appliances and the associated consumables are often reimbursed in full. We will be pleased to provide you more information.

TENS consumables

The iPulz appliances require the use of additional consumables.

The electrodes, important consumables with TENS therapy, are applied to the skin. Everyone has a different type of skin: some people, for example, have a hypersensitive skin or perspire profusely. We offer a wide range of types of TENS electrodes to accommodate these differences. You can order them here.

You can also order special gels and various accessories here.
